Once a number of polymer plants was commissioned, Russian PP and PE markets gained surplus of feedstocks. Moreover, existing resources enable to increase production volumes with the focus on foreign markets. Leading Russian petrochemical companies (Gazprom, SIBUR, Rosneft, Lukoil, TAIF, IOC) continue to develop projects for new capacities construction, thus, coming closer to the goal of occupying a rightful place in the global market. According to experts, by 2030 global demand for base polymers will grow by 40%, in 2050 – by 60-65%. Russian planned and ongoing projects will allow to increase large-scale polymer production in the country by 11.4 million tonnes by 2030.
Learn more about development drivers of large-scale polymer industry in Russia and investment projects for construction and modernisation of production capacities.
